VALENCIA, CA - November 5, 2003-MBK Homes' San Abella at Westridge in Valencia has received an Elan award as Best Detached Project of the Year and Best Brochure Design for a Community Priced $350,000 to $500,000. The Elan awards are presented by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry Association in Los Angeles/Ventura Counties. The uniquely designed neighborhood of San Abella features 101 architecturally distinct 'courtyard' homes with more than one-third of the homes being situated directly on the golf course, featuring golf course views. Prices begin in the mid to high $400,000s.

In receiving the Elan award, San Abella has been recognized for its skillful and innovative architectural and landscape design. San Abella presents a unique configuration, grouping four homes around a central landscaped pedestrian-friendly courtyard. Garages are located out of view in the rear of the homes, and the resulting design is a traditional, expansive and very appealing street scene.

San Abella at Westridge presents a courtyard home design in which four homes share a common walkway. Some special homesites offer the tranquil appeal and views of fairway living, while other homes might be more suited to families seeking the master-planned community lifestyle. Four beautifully designed floor plans with three to four bedrooms and two and one-half to three baths offer 1,892 to 2,294 square feet of living space.

Westridge continues Valencia's 35-year tradition of redefining California living by featuring a diverse array of new home choices that include the finest custom estates in the Santa Clarita Valley and California's first Tournament Players Club (TPC) golf course, TPC at Valencia. The 18-hole championship public golf course offers an approximately 28,000-square foot clubhouse with a Pro Shop, grill, lounge and bar, and is part of the Tournament Players Club network, comprised of 23 courses nationwide.

In addition to offering exceptional golfing opportunities, Westridge also features a beautiful 150-acre oak tree preserve and will add to Valencia's famed paseo system, which provides several points of connection to the oak tree preserve from the surrounding neighborhoods. At completion, Westridge will offer a number of outstanding amenities including a large 4.8-acre private community park, an array of "view" parks, a new elementary school, a convenient retail center, and a Village Recreation Center with a community meeting hall, kitchen facilities, Jr. Olympic size swimming pool and more.
