IRVINE, CA - Reflecting its dedication to homebuilding excellence and superior customer service, MBK Homes has won the Laurel Award for Homebuilder of the Year. This prestigious award is awarded to a homebuilding company who displays exceptional efforts in developing Inland Empire communities and the firm's establishment and fulfillment of corporate goals, team building, customer satisfaction and overall exemplary level of professionalism in the Sales & Marketing disciplines and community and industry involvement. The Laurel Awards are presented annually by the Inland Empire Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry Association.

The judges lauded MBK Homes for taking aggressive proactive steps to ensure that its customers receive the best possible home-buying experience. For example, the company implemented Community Teams whose sole purpose is to increase customer satisfaction by creating a higher level of MBK involvement with buyers. The teams are comprised of MBK sales, construction and customer care personnel, MBK trade partners and a team liaison. The teams' dedication helped MBK achieve a 97.5% customer service score from Eliant, the foremost consumer research company in the new home industry.

In addition, MBK received acclaim for its community involvement activities. When wildfires destroyed homes throughout Southern California, MBK organized a fund-raising effort for the California Fire Rebuilding Fund. Last Thanksgiving, the company's food drive collected over 700 pounds of food for the Orange County Rescue Mission, which assists the homeless. And every year, MBK hosts a toy drive on behalf of the Orangewood Children's Foundation and its program to dedicated to helping children in the foster care system. Also every year, MBK sponsors WalkAmerica, a national event benefitting March of Dimes. Last year, MBK raised over $7,100 in that event.

MBK Homes was also hailed for its green building initiatives and its unique recycling program that benefits Polar Bear SOS, a Natural Resources Defense Council program aimed to help stop global warming pollution.

"MBK Homes is dedicated to improving our communities, whether through building high-quality homes or by supporting causes that improve the well being of families in our community and protect the environment," stated Tim Kane, president of MBK Homes. "The Laurel Award is a tribute to all of our team members. They recognize that our community is our home, and they share our belief that we should strive to make it a better place for everyone."
